Englishtown E-walkers win Walking Prize!

Posted on Mar 14, 2016

On March 3, Englishtown’s E-walkers won a Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ prize recognizing them as community leaders for their participation in the month-long Winter Walk Challenge. Throughout the month of February, a time when physical activity is difficult due to often cold and unpleasant weather, this enthusiastic team engaged residents to walk to celebrate Heart Month.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Walkabout Winter Walk Challenge supports communities, businesses and individuals who are making make walking more enjoyable and accessible. Walkabout is a comprehensive approach to help build a culture of walking in Nova Scotia. This program includes information on leading a walking group, organizing workplace walking challenges, using the website, creating supportive built environments and developing policy.
