Nordic Walking Beginner Clinic – Dartmouth, Saturday, April 18

 “No Charge” How to Nordic Pole Walking Clinic will be held in Dartmouth,  Saturday, April 18th, from 10:00–11:30am at the office building attached to the Ramada Inn Hotel. It will be in Suite 104, 238 Brownlow Ave, Burnside.
The opening information session and demonstration will be held in the boardroom of Investors Group Financial Services and then Nordic Walking training will take place in their parking lot. Nordic Pole Walking “loaner” poles will be available so anyone without poles can try Canada’s fastest growing adult fitness activity. The Instructors are Esther & Bill VanGorder, nationally certified by Nordixx Nordic Pole Walking. Experienced Nordic Walkers are also invited to come for a “refresher” on their technique.

Updated NS Hiking Summit Program April 24-26

The program for the Hiking Summit has been updated and there’s a lot on offer this year.

Hike Nova Scotia invites individuals and groups with an interest in hiking, walking and snowshoeing to the fourth annual Hiking Summit from April 24 to 26 at Scotsburn Elementary School in Scotsburn. The Summit is a celebration of hiking culture, including best practices, stories and networking opportunities. And there will be hiking, of course! The Summit is hosted by Hike NS and Pictou County, with support from the NS Department of Health and Wellness.

There is limited space for this event, so please register early to secure your spot. Registration is $30 for Hike NS members and $40 for non-members (who will receive a membership with their registration). Registration includes: access to hike events and socials; access to Saturday sessions; Saturday morning and afternoon coffee/snacks and lunch. There is an optional Saturday supper that costs extra. Registration does not include accommodation or other meals – you must arrange them on your own.
