The Heartland Tour kicks off this Saturday, July 4th at the Halifax Commons. Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ will be leading walks at three of the events. We would like to introduce you to our “Bridgewater Featured Walker” – Ms. Heather Fifield.
Heather very much enjoys getting out for her walks on both the beautiful trails and the streets of downtown Bridgewater. During her walks she appreciates the fresh air, the sights and connecting with other walkers along the way. Heather notes how much more energized and invigorated she feels after a good walk. Heather has also been an enthusiastic Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ Leader at HB Studios Sport Center during the Winter months. Join us in Bridgewater on Thursday, July 9th for a lovely walk starting at 3:00pm at Kinsmen Field.

The Heartland Tour kicks off this Saturday, July 4th at the Halifax Commons. Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ will be leading walks at three of the events. We would like to introduce you to our “New Glasgow Featured Walker” – Ms. Bernadette MacDonald.
Bernadette is from New Glasgow and has been working in health care for more than 20 years, but didn’t pay close attention to her own health until 4 years ago when her granddaughter was born. “I wanted to be a good role model for her so I decided to make some healthy lifestyle changes, including eating better and becoming more active. I’ve always loved to walk but this is the first year I’ve become involved with organized walks such as Johnny Miles and HeartLand Tour.” Join Bernadette on Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00am from the Pictou County Wellness Centre for the HeartLand Tour walk.

The Heartland Tour kicks off this Saturday, July 4th at the Halifax Commons. Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ will be leading walks at three of the events. We would like to introduce you to our “Halifax Featured Walker” – Mr. Eleftherios “Terry” Michalopoulos.
Terry is certainly not new to promoting healthy lifestyles and the benefits of physical activity. An incredibly avid walker, Terry often accumulates over 30,000 steps (24 kilometres) in one day from walking around his Dartmouth community and making active transportation a way of life. At the young age of 74, Terry has been raising funds for Heart and Stroke Foundation for several years and has a deep belief in the importance of making the world in which we live a better place for our children. Join Terry at the Halifax Commons this Saturday at 11:00am for the HeartLand Tour walk.
