Switch Dartmouth is less than a week away! Once again, Dartmouth community partners, route activators and volunteers have come together to create a fun and safe day for all. There are many events taking place along the route between 12 – 4pm including face painting, a musical stage, Halifax mobile skate park and St. George’s mini tennis court, just to name a few. As well, Blind Sports Nova Scotia will be providing tandem bike rides. Along Prince Albert Road you will find yoga and sports classes.
Don’t forget to stop by the Heart&Stroke Walkabout booth to say hello!

The Annual Nova Scotia Volkssport/ Marathon Walk Event will be hosted this year by the Central Nova Volkssport Club (Truro, NS) on Saturday, September 13, 2014. This is a great opportunity to meet other walkers and volkssport friends from across the province and enjoy a walking experience along the Cobequid Trail.
Registration will take place at 8:00am in the lobby of the Holiday Inn 437 Prince St, Truro on September 13, 2014, and the marathon starts at 8:30am.
The leader for the first section of the marathon will be Tom McNutt 895-1231. Most of the marathon will be self guided. The Old Barns Church will be the check point where you can have a break, lunch, bathroom etc. Your bags will be transported to the church.
All marathon participants should contact Sheila Wilson [email protected] with their interest so organizers have a rough idea how many are doing the marathon.

5/10/21 participants will register at the Old Barns Church starting at 9:30am. These guided walks will start at 10:00am and your leaders will be Heather McLeod and Sheila Wilson.
Directions to the church: Hwy 102, Exit 14 Turn left onto route 236-10 km to the church.
All participants should dress in layers, bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, lunch and snacks.

Evening banquet: Horsemen’s club 7:00pm (288 Main St Bible Hill, NS). The Horsemen’s Club is located in the Exhibition/Raceway grounds. Cross the bridge into Bible Hill and then go straight at the traffic lights. The entrance to the grounds is on your right.
Turkey supper: $22.00/person
