History: The Trestle Trail is located near the picturesque town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Meandering along the Mersey River—a commonly used waterway for the Mi’kmaw—the Trestle Trail is lined with many maple trees. The Mi’kmaw people were the first to tap the sap from these trees to make maple syrup. At the head of the Trestle Trail you will also find cedar, which is a sacred medicine for cleansing and energizing.
