2018 Walkability Grants

Posted on Jan 09, 2018

For more than 60 years, Heart & Stroke has invested $1.45 billion in life-saving research and has witnessed a 75% decline in heart disease and stroke.  Our mission is to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery; by empowering Canadians to take control of their health. Enabling people to become more physically active in their daily lives is one modifiable risk factor of heart disease and stroke that can be improved.

To help kick start physical activity and walking among Nova Scotian communities, Heart&Stroke Walkabout™ is pleased to offer the annual Walkability grants.  These grants are awarded to Nova Scotian organizations, groups and individuals that pledge to take steps to increase walking participation. The deadline for submissions is Monday, February 5th, 2018, and applicants will be awarded their funds no later than March 31st, 2018.
